Ingredients

SMAŽENÝ SÝR
  • 4 slices eidam cheese Slices should be approximately 1 cm thick
  • 1 egg Beat the egg with milk for the batter
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour Use more if needed for a thicker batter
  • 50 ml milk Adjust according to batter consistency
  • 100 g fine breadcrumbs For coating the cheese
  • 200 ml oil Depending on the size of the pan
  • 1 tsp salt Optional; not needed if cheese is salty

Equipment

  • Frying Pan

Method

  1. Beat the egg with a little milk. Stir in the flour to make a thick batter that adheres to the cheese.
  2. Dip each cheese slice into the batter and coat with breadcrumbs. Redip in the batter and coat again with breadcrumbs, ensuring all edges are covered.
  3. Heat a layer of oil approximately 1 cm deep in a frying pan. Fry the cheese on both sides until golden brown, ensuring it is heated through and soft inside. Do not fry for too long to prevent the cheese from leaking.
  4. Briefly drain and serve immediately. For a video, cut the finished cheese just before filming and reattach the halves.

Notes

Serve with boiled potatoes and tartar sauce for a complete meal.
