Preparazione passo-passo di Caramel Cheesecake Cookies

Caramel Cheesecake Cookies

A delightful twist on classic caramel cookies with a hint of cheesecake, reminiscent of nonna’s warm kitchen.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: About 12 cookies 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g cubed turkey breast (pork alternative)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp orange juice
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tbsp black mustard seeds
  • ½ tbsp fresh chopped basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the cookies:
  • Flour
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Egg yolks
  • Cream cheese (implied by ‘formaggio di cesare’)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the caramel sauce: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the cubed turkey and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 5-6 minutes. Remove the turkey from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
  2. In the same skillet, add the orange juice, honey, apple cider vinegar, and black mustard seeds. Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook for about 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has slightly thickened.
  3. Add the fresh chopped basil to the sauce and stir well. Return the turkey to the skillet and coat with the sauce. Let it cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the turkey is cooked through and the sauce is coating it.
  4. Prepare the cookies: In another skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add flour, sugar, and salt. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, until the mixture is golden and you can smell an intense cookie aroma.
  5. Add the egg yolks and mix well. Incorporate flour and sugar until the mixture is homogeneous.
  6. Shape the cookies and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake the cookies at 180°C (350°F) for about 12-15 minutes, until golden and cooked.
  8. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool for about 5 minutes.
  9. Once cooled, place the cookies on a plate and top with the caramel sauce (and presumably a cream cheese element, based on the title).
  10. Serve the caramel cheesecake cookies warm, garnished with extra fresh basil if desired.

Notes

  • Use good quality olive oil for an intense flavor and golden color.
  • Feel free to substitute the turkey breast with chicken or duck breast if you prefer.
  • Use an electric mixer to mix the caramel sauce and the cookies.
  • Do not overload the cookies with the caramel sauce; let it coat them evenly.
